Default A New Armor type

So i thought why there is an weapons and off-hands dropping but there isnt any armor ?
All the armor that monster drop can be salvaged to runes and insignias, why not make these armors able to be used - there can be even rare armors which can be green boss drops or even random, the green armor - it sounds cool aint it ?

Nah, the point is that armor is custom made for that character - wearing armor that was customized for a Charr doesn't make sense unless you are Charr.

Id find it good, if we could salvage out of armors, that enemies drop insignias

or could use them to upgrade our own ones at a Smith NPC

When you find an enemy armor, that has more armor, than your own one, than you can use it to upgrade the defense power of your own one slightly by the difference of both

say you wear an armor of AL 51 and you find now an enemy armor with 60 Al, then yiou can use it to upgrade ur own one to AL60 .. and this then by a much cheaper way then buying a complete new armor....

the armor that drops from monsters is used in almost all mmos so i dont find a bad thing , u can be able to customized it at the armor smith and the variety of items will be bigger which is always good

Perhaps the idea was meant like hero armour. A remnant piece could be a drop and that could be taken to a specific crafter to make the armour. A remnant for the whole set or for each individual piece. Some could be more common than others with a couple rare sets. Cool idea provided the skins are amazing, animated armour would be nice.

/notsigned, this is to much WoW-like, besides, how would you fit in a dwarf pauldron?

Been suggested before, probably about a year ago. Doesn't make it any less of a cool idea, and would certainly give variety to appearances of toons. A tailor NPC or armorsmith could pare down larger armors to fit your toon, and maybe for smaller ones they could simply copy the design. Of course you could always take character height and race into it as well (since GW2 will have charr, etc.) but that's the simple answer.

But that's just my two cents

I don't think wearing the emblems of my enemies is a good thing. Not unless it's an infiltration mission.

Hmm, would I want to wear stinky old armor peeled off from a guy I just mashed into a bloody pulp? Especially since its an armor that didn't do him any good.

/notsigned. Otherwise you end up with ugly armour designs you can't choose, like in Diablo or Hellgate: London. I kind of like choosing my brand spanking new armour, and with that in place, why the hell would I want to wear some giant ogre's used jockstrap?
